On 6 January, the feast of Dznount (the Nativity), Armenians celebrate Christmas – the first and most joyful of the Daghavars (the five great feasts of the Armenian Church).
On this day a solemn liturgy dedicated to the Nativity of Christ is celebrated, and straight after it begins the rite of the Holy Baptism – Theophany.
